Welcome to the Fond du Lac Tribal Court website. In May 1992, the RBC enacted Ordinance #04/92, establishing “a forum and civil procedure for the hearing and redress of grievances and disputes” involving the Band or “persons within the civil jurisdiction” of the Band. This Ordinance created the Fond du Lac Tribal Court in its current form. The Court exercises jurisdiction over certain individuals and also entities doing business with the Band or engaging in certain activities on the Reservation, as well as persons who consent to the Tribal Court’s jurisdiction. The Court exercises only civil jurisdiction at this time. The Court does not hear criminal matters and does not have jurisdiction to hear child welfare cases.
The Court hears conservation, animal control and traffic matters on the first Monday of each month, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Juvenile Code violations are held on the same day, beginning at 3:30 p.m. If the first Monday of the month is a holiday, the monthly hearing is automatically moved to the following Monday. The Court schedules its civil docket matters, along with procedural or motion hearings, throughout the month.
The Court Clerk's office is open:
Monday - Friday
9:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.
