You are required to appear on the date listed on the bottom of your citation. If you wish to plead guilty prior to your court date, you can sign the guilty plea printed on the back of your citation and file it with the court clerk. If you arrange for payment prior to the court date you can avoid the $25 court costs that may be imposed at your trial.
Q: I received a traffic citation and would like to know how much the fine is and where I pay?
A: The scheduled fine is written on your citation. The traffic fine schedule is also listed in the Financials section of this site. Additional fines, up to three times the listed amount, may be imposed by the Court for recurrent violation(s) within one year of the plea or judgment of guilty.
Q: What types of payment are accepted?

Q: Can I pay my fine before my court date?
A: Yes. If you wish to plead guilty and pay your fine, you may sign the guilty plea printed on the back of your citation and file it along with your payment.
Q: Can another person pay my fine?
A: Yes. If payment is being made prior to your court date, a guilty plea signed by you must be filed with the payment.
Q: Can I set up a payment plan?
A: Prior to your court date you can file a request for payment plan, if you have entered a guilty plea. If a hearing is held and a fine is imposed you can ask the Judge for a payment plan at the conclusion of the hearing. If you receive a judgment and order in the mail, you may file a request for payment plan within 30 days of the date of the judgment. The form to request a payment plan can be found on the wall outside the courtroom, requested from the court clerk, or found in the Forms section of this site. The court will notify you whether the request is granted or denied.
Q: What do I bring to court when I’m charged for no insurance?
A: If you had insurance, bring a copy of the insurance document showing that the vehicle was insured and present it during traffic court.
Q: Can I contest the citation?
A: Yes, if you enter a not guilty plea a hearing will be held. The officer who issued the citation will be present. Be sure to bring any witnesses and documents you wish to present.
Q: Do I need to hire an attorney?
A: You do not have to, but you may hire an attorney at your own expense.
Q: I haven’t received anything in the mail with my court date and time, how do I know when I should appear?
A: The date and time are located on the bottom of your citation.
Q: What happens if I miss my scheduled court date?
A: If you do not appear at your scheduled court date the hearing may be held in your absence and you may be found guilty.
Q: How do I reschedule my court date?
A: You may file a request for continuance prior to the court date listed on your citation. This paperwork can be found on the wall outside the courtroom, requested from the court clerk, or found in the Forms section of this site. The court will notify you whether the request is granted or denied. If your request is not granted before the court date, you need to appear on the scheduled date.
