Welcome to the Fond du Lac Law Enforcement web site. The Fond du Lac Police Department currently operates a 24 hour 7 day a week service to the community. We currently have on staff Police Officers, K-9, and Administration staff. All Officers are state and tribal licensed Police Officers. One Officer is assigned as a School Resource Officer and works directly with the Fond du Lac Ojibwe Schools and students. One Officer is assigned as a Victim Of Crimes Advocate (VOCA) and works directly with community members and area advocates to get services provided.
The Fond du Lac Police Department also has three Officers assigned to investigations and work directly with Fond du Lac Officers as well as other area Law Enforcement Officers and Investigators. Fond du Lac Police are dispatched through both St. Louis County 911 and Carlton County 911 Emergency Centers.
Ride Alongs: If anyone is interested in doing a ride along please complete and turn in the following form to the Fond du Lac Police Department. Must be 18 years of age.

Fond du Lac Law Enforcement History
The Fond du Lac Police Department originated in 1998. The first Police Officer assigned to the Police Department was Roger (Bouda) Smith Sr. Roger operated as a one-person Police Department. Roger played a major role in the implementation and development of policies and procedures as well as obtaining state licensure status as Police Officers for Fond du Lac Reservation.

We, the men and women of the Fond du Lac Law Enforcement believe that our fundamental duty is to serve and protect the citizens, resources, and cultural values of Fond du Lac Reservation with fairness, compassion, and respect. We, demand excellence in the quality of our law enforcement, stressing professionalism, integrity, and timeliness, so that those we serve may feel secure. We provide equal enforcement and protection of the law without prejudice or favor. We promote the setting of goals in partnership with the community, and prioritize and address problems based on the concerns of the community. Committed to continuous improvement in law enforcement, we promote and utilize the most modern techniques available.

The Review Committee will meet the third Tuesday of every month at 3:00 p.m. The meetings are open to the public. Except in consideration of an Executive Session.
