Title: FACE Parent Educator, Full Time
Location: FACE Building
Supervisor: FACE Coordinator
Closing Date: May 7, 2024
Rate of Pay: $17.31 to $19.47 per hour

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Establish a schedule of home visits with parents providing parent/child experiences that are developmentally appropriate and related to the selected curriculum program.
  • Work cooperatively with the FACE Coordinator to plan and provide meaningful parent/child interaction experiences for the enrolled families, within group and individual family activities.
  • Actively advocate and demonstrate appropriate adult child interactions.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all staff and community members serving as a community liaison.
  • Establish and maintain an attractive, safe, healthy, and developmentally appropriate environment for the participants.
  • Actively develop and participate in the development and implementation of the Family Learning Plan.
  • Collaborate with team members to discuss the family’s progress at least three times a year or as necessary to meet the needs of the family.
  • Participates in all education programs including local and regional in-service training, advisory committee, and community education meetings as directed.
  • Participates/Instructs classes at all educational related events and activities, including attending extended day and or extended week.
  • Actively participate in total program recruitment/retention activities and assist in preparing publicity information concerning the program as directed by the team.
  • Order program supplies, materials and equipment for the home based component, in consultation with the FACE team.
  • Submits required reports and information to the FACE Coordinator.
  • Routine cleaning/maintenance of work area to ensure a safe, clean and secure learning environment for all participants.
  • Facilities group sessions of parents or other adult family members.
  • Communicates needs of parents and children with appropriate staff, making referral’s when necessary.
  • Develops cooperation with this program and other programs offered through the reservation and other public service organizations.
  • Ensures that the confidentiality of all children, parents and records are respected.
  • Displays a responsive and professional manner in solving all requests, complaints, and problems.
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area.
  • Represents the Reservation Business Committee in a positive and professional manner in the community.
  • Recognize that employees have certain personal responsibilities, which affect the operational efficiency of the Reservation Business Committee.
  • Maintains proper attendance in accordance with Reservation policy. Reports to work on time in accordance with Reservation policy. Provides adequate notice to supervisor prior to absence or lateness in accordance with Reservation policy.
  • Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Reservation, and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of every person (visitors, co-workers).
  • Due to changes and modifications in your job from time to time, we require employees to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as management sees the necessity. Some assignments may not be listed in this description at this time.

Physical Requirements:

  • Normal physical requirements.

Position Qualifications:

  • AA Degree, 60 College Credits, or passed the Para-professional Test.
  • Experience working with special needs students is desired.
  • Knowledge of the American Indian and use this knowledge in the classroom.
  • Ability to work with multi-ages, multi-ability students is required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
  • Ability to work independently and establish work priorities is required.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
  • Ability to provide prompt resolution of problems and conflicts as they may occur is required.
  • Subject to pre-employment annual background checks, and annual reference checks.
  • Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations.
  • Subject to testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Employee Drug and Alcohol Policy.
  • Some travel may be required.
