Position Responsibilities:
- To achieve the program objectives as described in the FACE guidelines.
- To develop an appropriate plan of action to implement the program goals in conjunction with the FACE team.
- To develop and implement an evaluation plan for the operation of the program and the performance of program staff.
- Provide supervision, training, and guidance to all program staff.
- Supervision, development and service delivery of appropriate curriculum for the program.
- Assist in planning and provide enriching educational experiences that are developmentally appropriate for all program participants.
- Work cooperatively with the FACE Team to plan and provide meaningful parent/child interactions experience for the enrolled families.
- Actively advocate and demonstrate appropriate adult child interactions.
- Maintain a professional relationship with all staff and community members, serving as a community liaison.
- Guide and provide training and provide support for FACE staff and volunteers working in the classroom.
- Participate in development and implementation of the Family Learning Plan.
- Collaborate with parents and team members to discuss the family’s progress at least three times a year or as necessary to meet the needs of the family.
- Participates in education program including local and regional in-service training, advisory committee, and community education meetings as directed.
- Participates/Instructs classes at all educational related events and activities, including attending extended day and or extended week.
- Actively participates/organizes total program recruitment/retention activities and assist in preparing publicity information concerning the program as directed by the team.
- Order program supplies, materials and equipment in consultation with the FACE team.
- Maintain all necessary program records/reports and submits required reports and information to the appropriate recipients.
- Development of a network of educational programs in order to provide an appropriate education experience to participants.
- Facilitates group sessions of parents or other adult family members.
- Ensures the confidentiality of all children, parents and records are respected.
- Displays a responsive and professional manner in solving all requests, complaints, and problems.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Represents the Reservation Business Committee in a positive and professional manner in the community.
- Recognized that employees have certain personal responsibilities, which affect the operational efficiency of the Reservation Business Committee.
- Maintains proper attendance in accordance with Reservation policy. Reports to work on time in accordance with Reservation policy. Provides adequate notice to supervisor prior to absence or lateness in accordance with Reservation policy.
- Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Reservation, and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of every person (visitors, co-workers).
- Due to changes and modifications in your job from time to time, we require employees to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as management sees the necessity. Some assignments may not be listed in this description at this time.
Physical Requirements:
- Normal physical requirements.
Position Qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education certification and/or Minnesota Teaching license is required.
- Masters degree is preferred.
- Work towards Educational Administration Licensure is desired.
- Experience working with special needs students is desired.
- Knowledge of the American Indian and use this knowledge in the program.
- Ability to work multi-ages, multi-ability students is required.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
- Ability to work independently and establish work priorities is required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Subject to pre-employment, post accident, return to duty, follow-up, and random drug testing.
- Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
- Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations.
- Some travel is required.
