General Summary:
Lead Recovery Case Manager will assist program supervisor or coordinator with providing day to day leadership, training and monitoring of program recovery case manager and client care being delivered. Lead Recovery Case Manager will ensure that case plans, data collection and intakes are completed in on time and in compliance with FDLHS/SUD policies. Lead Recovery Case Manager will have a reduced caseload based on program needs and availability.
Position Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership, training and monitoring of program recovery case manager.
- To develop and evaluate effectiveness of client recovery case plans.
- To assist clients in overcoming barriers to completing treatment and maintaining sobriety.
- Ensure that client contacts are made according to policy.
- To assist with data and grant collection that pertains to case management services.
- To arrange for substitute care in the absences of a client’s primary care recovery case manager.
- Document client progress, charting and other record keeping as needed.
- To assist in evaluation program procedures and content and recommend changes to department coordinator.
- Transport and/or arrange for transportation of clients as necessary.
- Facilitate or coordinate support groups including self-help, AA/NA or Family and Community Wellness groups.
- Conduct intakes, case management planning, and discharge planning with individual clients.
- Refer clients to appropriate community services providers.
- Integrate program operations and individual client care with all other agencies and providers.
- Ensure that all possible methods of billing and collecting for care have been pursued.
- Submit monthly reports as directed.
- Audit Recovery Case Managers clients charts for accuracy and clarity.
- Appropriate work attire is required.
- Must attend all mandatory department trainings.
- Ensures confidentiality of financial records and all records for employees and/or clients.
- Displays a responsive and professional manner in promptly responding to all requests, complaints, and problems.
- Recognizes that each employee is a representative of the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and is responsible for demonstrating courtesy, respect, and sensitivity to the needs of all others, including visitors and co-workers.
- Represents the Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa and the department in a positive and professional manner in the community.
- Required to maintain proper attendance including reporting to work on time in accordance with applicable policies.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Due to changes and modifications in the job from time to time, employees are required to be flexible and assume other responsibilities assigned by management as deemed necessary.

Position Qualifications:
- Class D Driver’s License required and must be insurable under Fond du Lac’s insurance requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Service Related Field is required.
- ADC I or UMICAD I certified is required, if not certified at the time of hire, employee must become certified within 90 days of hire, and must maintain certification for duration of employment.
- CPR certification is required; if not certified at the time of hire, employee must become certified within 6 months of hire, and must maintain certification for duration of employment.
- LADC or ADC III preferred.
- 3 years' chemical dependency counseling or case management experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of computer applications to include word processing, Access, Excel and Microsoft Outlook is required.
- Familiarity with the Fond du Lac community and its resources is required.
- Must be free of chemical use problems for at least one year immediately preceding hire and must sign a statement attesting to that fact, and must remain free of chemical use problems for duration of employment.
- Three to five years’ experience working with Native American communities, culture, customs, and beliefs is required.
- Three to five years’ experience working with Native American clients, communities, and the ability to demonstrate cultural sensitivity is required.
- Operations are conducted seven days a week; 24 hours a day; and on holidays.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing is required.
- Ability to work independently and establish priorities is required.
- Attention to detail and accuracy is required.
- Ability to establish professional and harmonious working relationships on all projects and with all parties involved.
- Subject to drug and alcohol testing in accordance with the Fond du Lac Reservation’s Personnel Policies.
- Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
- Subject to immunization review and submitted proof of required vaccinations.
- Travel is required.
